When the Super Eagles tackle Mali on Wednesday in the semi final of the African Cup of Nations, Stephen Keshi would be going back to a familiar terrain.
Keshi took Mali to the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola and made football headlines from coming back 4-0 with 11 minutes left to level 4-4 with host Angola. That record is still considered to be one of the best come-backs in recent memory and stands as Mali's all time record.
Overwhelmed by the victory over loquacious Ivory Coast that boasted to make a meal(fried chicken) of the Eagles, Keshi said that 90% of the Malian team were his boys when he was in charge of the country's national team.
"I know the team. They are a good side and they have been together for long. 90% of the team were my team", he told a horde of Malian journalists who besieged him for comments on the match with his former team.
"It's going to be a tough game. We'll see when we meet", the new bride at the African Cup of Nations said.
